Transiting New York City

New York, New York

Another early morning departure to capitalize on the incoming tide and a push up the Hudson River.

The sight of the Verrazano Bridge in the distance as we approach New York City is exciting, and nerve racking, realizing that we need to be constantly vigilant and stay out of the way of ocean-going ships, and especially the large commuter ferries that come at you fast and furious, from all directions.

We were able to get some shots of the Statue of Liberty as we passed by.

Given that we have visited New York before, and that dockage rates are $7 to $10 per foot, the cost for us to stay on our own boat was exorbitant, but it is New York!

We marveled at some of the interesting architecture and enjoyed our view of some of the historical sights.

Thank You for Your Service

Once we passed under the George Washington Bridge, we left the hustle and bustle of the city behind
