May 20, Launch Day Launch day - a long, very chilly (42 F for us Texas wimps) and breezy day. Can someone please turn off the wind machine and turn on the heat! Cheboygan, Michigan County Marina Ain't nothing easy on a boat! Always work to be done after a long winter storage.   May 30 Mackinaw City After provisioning, washing and cleaning the boat, fixing stuff that breaks, and days of waiting for temperatures to warm up and the wind to diminish, we departed Cheboygan at dawn, heading for points south.  Passing under the Mackinaw Bridge, we left Lake Huron and entered Lake Michigan. Lake Michigan was having a tantrum and travel was not comfortable. We decided to turn back and head into Mackinaw City and wait for conditions to improve the following day.   Little Current, Ontario Little Current represents the start of the North Chanel. Opinions differ since some believe it starts at Killarney. We spent the night at the Town Docks and walked a few blocks to Orr’s Valu-Mart to  restock some provisions. Being Tuesday, the Anchor inn was closed, so we walked up the hill to Elliott's for dinner. Next morning, prior to departure, it was time to catch up with the l aundry & later reward ourselves with  breakfast at the Anchor Inn, located downtown, across from the marina. The Anchor Inn no longer has rooms for rent but is a quaint, maritime themed restaurant & pub.
